좋은 꿈 Good Dreams

다들 안녕히 주무셨나요?

Did you all sleep well?

여기 호주는 겨울입니다. 밤에는 춥고 낮에는 햇빛 때문에 따뜻한 날씨가 계속되고 있습니다.

It is winter here in Australia. The weather is cold at night and warm during the day because of the sunlight.

저는 한 번도 살면서 좋은 꿈을 꿔야겠다고 마음을 먹고 잔 적이 없습니다. 그저 낮에 있었던 일들이 저절로 떠오르면서 잠이 들곤 했습니다. 그러니 꿈도 낮에 일어난 일을 반복하거나 좀 변형되거나 하는 일들을 꿉니다. 그런데 요새는 꿈을 잘 꿔야겠다는 생각이 들어요. 우리의 깨어있는 의식은 ‘빙산의 일각’이라고들 합니다. 무의식은 훨씬 크고 깊다고도 해요 .

I've never slept with the determination to have a good dream in my life. I would just fall asleep as things that happened during the day came to my mind. So dreams repeat or transform what happened during the day. But these days, I think I need to dream well. It is said that our waking consciousness is ‘the tip of the iceberg’. It is said that unconsciousness is much bigger and deeper.

이 무의식을 잘 관리하면 제가 깨어 있는 시간이 무척 의미있고 행복할 것이라는 생각을 합니다. 좋은 꿈을 꾸어서 무의식을 긍정적으로 바꾸면 앞으로 얼마나 좋은 내 자신이 될지 기대가 됩니다.

If I manage this unconsciousness well, I think my waking time will be very meaningful and happy. If I change my unconsciousness positively by dreaming a good dream, I am looking forward to how good I will be in the future.

한국에서는 좋은 꿈 중의 하나가 꿈에 돼지가 나오는 것이에요. 돼지는 풍요과 부의 상징입니다. 그래서 돼지꿈을 꾸면 어떤 사람들은 복권을 삽니다. 우리 엄마는 제 오빠를 가질 적에 돼지 꿈을 꾸었다고 합니다. 하지만 저는 한번도 돼지 꿈을 꾼 적이 없습니다.

In Korea, one of the good dreams is that a pig comes out in a dream. Pigs are symbols of abundance and wealth. So if you dream of a pig, some people buy lottery tickets. My mom said she dreamed of a pig when she had my older brother. However, I've never dreamed of a pig.

오늘 자기 전에 한번 좋은 생각을 하고, 좋은 모습을 상상하면서 잠이 들면 어떨까요? 오늘보다 나은 내일을 기대하며…

Why don't you have a good idea before you go to bed tonight and imagine how good you are? Looking forward to a better tomorrow than today...
