온라인 수업 Online Class

여기 호주는 락다운이 진행되고 있습니다. 초등학교부터 대학교까지 모든 교육기관이 온라인으로 수업을 하고 있어요. 당신의 공부는 잘되어가고 있나요? 온라인 수업에 적응할만한가요?

Here in Australia, a lockdown is underway. All educational institutions from elementary school to university are teaching online. How is your study going? Are you able to adapt to online classes?

세계가 인터넷으로 긴밀하게 연결되고 있는 지금을 우리는 ‘온라인 세상’이라고도 말할 수 있겠네요. 사람들은 ‘메타버스’나 ‘아바타’ 등을 만들어냅니다. 본래의 실질적인 자신이 아닌 온라인 세상을 통해 ‘제 2의 나’, ‘제 3의 나’를 만들어가고있고, 그를 통해 세상과 소통하는 모습은 참 흥미진진합니다.

Now that the world is connected the internet, we can call it the ‘online world’. People have made 'metaverse’, ‘avatars’, etc. They are creating “the second me” and “the third me”, not the original themselves, and the way they communicate with the world through them is very interesting.

저 역시 온라인 수업으로 한국어를 가르치고 있습니다. 내 모습이 컴퓨터 화면에 비춰지고 있지만, 나는 학생들에게 어떤 모습으로 느껴질까 궁금할 때가 있습니다. 끊임없이 학생들과 수업을 통해 소통하고 있는데도 말이지요.

I am also teaching Korean through online classes. I am being shown on the computer screen, but sometimes I wonder what students would feel like. Even though I am constantly communicating with students through classes.

비록 락다운이 아니더라도 이러한 온라인 세상은 어쩔 수 없는 흐름일 수도 있겠다는 생각이 듭니다. 우리는 이미 스마트폰을 손에서 놓지 못하고 있습니다. 사람들은 작은 스마트폰의 창 안에서 자신을 드러내고 다른 사람들의 삶을 보고 있는데 시간을 많이 씁니다.

Even if it’s not the lockdown, I think this online world might be a trend that can’t be helped. We can’t let go of our smartphones already. People spend a lot of time revealing themselves in the windows of small smartphones and looking at other people’s lives.

그러면 온라인 세상 그 자체를 진지하게 또 하나의 세상으로 받아들여야겠다는 생각을 합니다. 이미 그러신다고요? 저의 경우, 저는 아직 오프라인 세상 속에서 온라인 세상을 조금 느끼는 정도인 것 같아요. 하지만 나의 온라인 세상을 적극적으로 만들어가야겠다는 생각을 합니다.

Then I think I should take the online world itself seriously as an another world. You are already doing that? In my case, I think I steel feel the online world a little bit in the offline world. But I think I should actively create my online world.

우리는 이렇게 살고 있습니다. 바로 여기, 오프라인과 온라인이 연결된 세상에서.
